Therapy Animal Registration

All Therapy Animals with a Therapy Animal Certification ID will be registered in our database.

Therapy animals are not service animals and do not have the same rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Unlike service dogs, therapy animals are encouraged to interact with various people while they are on duty. Therapy animals are brought to places such as hospitals, nursing homes, homeless shelters, colleges and universities, schools, libraries, airports, areas affected by disasters, and private homes.

There is no official and universally recognized qualification process for therapy animals. Our therapy animal IDs and registrations are intended to help handlers signal that their therapy animals are on duty. These products are only for therapy animals that have been appropriately trained and have the temperament and qualifications to safely provide services in one-on-one and group settings.
